New confirmed coronavirus cases in Russia grew by 14,723 in the past 24 hours, registering a 50% increase since the start of the week and a new high since February 13, the federal anti-coronavirus crisis center reported on Sunday.

Axar.az reports that the coronavirus growth rate equaled 0.28%. Overall, 5,208,687 people have been infected with the novel coronavirus in Russia since the start of the pandemic, the latest data show.

A day before, Russia registered a new high of 13,510 coronavirus cases since February 15.

Coronavirus recoveries in Russia increased by 9,166 in the past 24 hours to 4,801,335, the crisis center reported.
