Turkmenistan has fully paid its debt to China

Turkmenistan has fully repaid China's debt for gas projects.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan Shahim Abdurrahmanov.

"The official notice of full repayment of the debt was received from the Xinjiang branch of the State Development Bank of China," he said.

It should be noted that Turkmenistan borrowed from China for the Turkmengaz state concern. The funds were spent on the construction of the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline and the development of the Galkinish gas field.
