UN: We welcome this statement by Biden and Putin!

The UN Secretary-General welcomes the joint statement of the Presidents of Russia and the United States on strategic stability.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from UN Secretary General's Spokesman Stephane Dujarric.

"The Secretary-General, in particular, welcomes the reaffirmation of the principles that nuclear war will not be won and will never be started," the diplomat said.

Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden met in Geneva yesterday.

At the end of the meeting, the sides issued a joint statement on negotiations on strategic stability at the international level.
