The US to allocate $ 3.2 B on coronavirus treatment

The US government will invest more than $ 3.2 billion in a new program to treat COVID-19.

Axar.az informs this was reported by The New York Times, citing government agencies.

It is stated that the investment will be used to accelerate clinical trials of drugs suitable for coronavirus disease:

"The optimistic scenario states that the drug will be approved by the end of this year. About a third of the money will go to research centers that develop completely new drugs - those that block the disease at an early stage or help fight other infections that could lead to a pandemic.

Last year, US officials spent more than $ 18 billion on the vaccine.
