Iran's new president announces foreign policy

Iran's foreign policy will not consist of the 2015 nuclear deal but will interact with the rest of the world.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Iran's new President Ibrahim Raisi.

He stressed that the government will continue to conduct diplomacy with foreign countries and this approach will not be limited to ongoing talks on the revival of the nuclear deal.

"We will interact with the world. We will not link the interests of the Iranian people to the nuclear deal. We do not intend to negotiate a nuclear deal unless the interests of our country are met."

He said that not only the United States was responsible for the cancellation of the nuclear deal, but also that the EU did not fulfil its obligations under the agreement after Trump's withdrawal.
