An optimistic statement from the WHO about the pandemic

The incidence of coronavirus infection in the world has been declining for the eighth consecutive week, and the number of fatal cases has been declining for the seventh consecutive week.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Tedros Adhanom Gebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO).

Noting that this is good news, Gebreyesus said, however, that new infections and deaths remain high.

According to the WHO chief, more than 2.5 million infections and about 64,000 deaths were registered last week.
