The United States plans to impose tougher sanctions on Iran if talks to return to the nuclear deal fail.

Axar.az reports this was stated in an article published in Wall Street Journal.

According to the magazine, citing US officials, if the talks fail, new alternatives are being worked out to punish the Tehran leadership.

According to the report, one of the plans is to cut off Iran's critical source of income by targeting transport networks that export about 1 million barrels of crude oil a day to China.
