Putin and Merkel discussed Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel had a telephone conversation.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from the German government.

The sides stressed the importance of resolving the Minsk agreement to resolve the crisis in eastern Ukraine.

The leaders also discussed energy issues, including the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline through Ukraine.
