Pakistan has deployed troops on the border with Afghanistan

Units of the Pakistani Armed Forces have been deployed on the border with Afghanistan.

Axar.az reports that the reason is to prevent the Taliban from infiltrating the country.

Pakistan's Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said it was important to strengthen the border with Afghanistan.

"We must protect not only the Taliban, but also the Afghan army and refugees fleeing the Taliban."

"If Afghan troops cross into Pakistan to escape the military operation, it is likely that the Taliban will persecute them and the conflict will be transferred to Pakistan."
