The Olympics in Japan are a symbol of hope and brotherhood in the difficult times of the coronavirus pandemic.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Pope Francis.

"The XXXII Olympic Games opened in Tokyo on Friday. These games are a signal of hope during a severe pandemic, a universal message of brotherhood in the light of healthy sports. God bless the organizers, the athletes and everyone who contributes to this great sports holiday!” The Pope said.
