Axar.az reports that the statement came from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a meeting with his Angolan counterpart Joao Lawrence.

"We know the difficulties in Africa, we have watched, albeit from afar," Erdogan said.

The Turkish leader has announced that he will visit Angola after the UN General Assembly.
