The main reason for the failure of the United States in Afghanistan is arrogance and lies.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from John Sopko, the US government's chief inspector for reconstruction in Afghanistan.

"I would use two words to describe the campaign in Afghanistan. One is arrogance and the other is lying,” he said.

Sopko said the United States was exaggerating its ability to change Afghanistan.

"It simply came to our notice then. Our generals, ambassadors, officials told the Congress and the people that we were at a turning point."
