The nuclear race threatens humanity - Reif

The nuclear race between the superpowers threatens humanity with uncontrolled military confrontation.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Kingston Reif, director of disarmament and threat reduction policy at the US Arms Control Association, in an interview with The Sun.

He stressed that we are witnessing a new nuclear rivalry between the major powers, which may become larger and more dangerous in the near future: "The nuclear race threatens the national security of the United States and its allies."

According to him, competition between superpowers is growing and the parties are expanding the size, variety and capabilities of their arsenal in response to the actions of the opponent.
