8 countries oppose North Stream-2 - Statement

A group of MPs from the United States, Great Britain, Poland, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Ireland opposed the construction of the North Stream-2 gas pipeline.

Axar.az reports that the parties signed a joint statement in this regard.

"We consider the North Stream-2 pipeline to be a geopolitical project aimed at expanding Russia's influence in Europe by dominating the energy market. "Completion of the pipeline will increase the impact of Russian gas on Europe's energy supply, threaten the national security of EU member states and the United States, and threaten Ukraine's already fragile security and sovereignty."
