This process will be very painful - Russia

The process of negotiations on Afghanistan will be "painful".

Axar.az reports that the statement came from the Russian President's Special Envoy for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov.

"We understand that real diplomacy is not based on emotions. Diplomacy is based on interests and opportunities," Kabulov said.

He stressed the importance of Russia's contact with the Taliban, and that the Taliban should keep its promises.

"If a party decides to break its promise to us, it should know that it will be costly."
