Poland will declare a state of emergency with Belarus

Poland is preparing to declare a state of emergency along the border with Belarus.

Axar.az reports that the reason for this step is the concentration of refugees from Afghanistan and Iraq on the borders of the two countries in recent weeks. The Polish side is trying to prevent illegal migration by detaining and returning refugees at the border, building new border fences and now declaring a state of emergency. The 30-day state of emergency should cover 183 settlements in the border area. Demonstrations and other actions will not be allowed during this period. Local residents will be free to move in the areas where the state of emergency has been declared, and unregistered residents will not be allowed to enter the area.

Polish Interior Minister Mariusz Kaminski defended the government's decision, saying that the situation on the border with neighboring Belarus was tense. For the government's decision to take official effect, it must be approved by President Andrzej Duda.
