New law: Putin's powers are increased

A bill on regional authorities has been submitted to the Russian Duma.

Axar.az reports that f the bill is passed, the two-term limit for governors will be lifted. Governors will henceforth be called subject leaders. Their term of office will be 5 years.

The bill also expands the grounds for the resignation of regional leaders by the president. According to the new bill, the resigned governor will not be able to run for the post of head of the entity for 5 years.
