The COVID-19 pandemic has plunged more than 100 million people into poverty.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

"More than 4 billion people do not receive any social support. There is no urgent need for medical services, no protection of income," he said.

According to him, inequality in the distribution of vaccines condemns the world to hundreds of millions of new deaths, prolongs the economic collapse, which will cost trillions of dollars, and hits poor countries.
