China to NATO: Give up this idea

We call on NATO to make an objective and positive assessment of China's socio-economic development.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Chinese official Zhao Lijiang.

"NATO, as the world's largest military alliance, must abandon the Cold War era. China must take a positive approach to development, as well as do more to ensure global and regional security," he said.

Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that China posed a threat and that Beijing would be added to the alliance's strategic concept.
