Garibashvili: Saakashvili is a prisoner

The Georgian government talked a lot about Mikheil Saakashvili before the local elections, but now he can be forgotten, he should be allowed to serve his sentence behind bars.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.

He said Saakashvili had two criminal cases on his "balance sheet."

Garibashvili said Saakashvili would not be released without serving his sentence.

"He is a prisoner and will remain in prison for at least six years."
