Turkey has apologized to Russia, and both sides are currently taking steps to normalize bilateral relations, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.

He made the remarks during a meeting with Russian ambassador to foreign countries in Moscow June 30.

The Russian president recalled the June 29 phone conversation with his Turkish counterpart.

“Ankara has apologized to Moscow. Relations between the two countries will be built a new,” he said.
