In Europe, if 95% of the population wears a mask, 160,000 lives can be saved.

Axar.az reports the statement came from WHO Executive Director for Europe Rob Butler.

"Only 48% of Europeans wear masks. "If the number of people wearing masks increases, the number of infections and deaths will decrease," he said.

According to him, 45-47% of the total population of European countries are currently not vaccinated against coronavirus:

"Let me be clear: most people in intensive care today are not vaccinated."
