Undoubtedly, it is in the interest of all the peoples of the region to put an end to 30 years of tension in the strategic South Caucasus region, to establish peace and stability, and to create opportunities for development, trade, investment and convenience transport.

Axar.az reports the statement came from the Iranian Ambassador to Ankara Mohammad Farazmand.

He welcomed the "3 + 3" idea of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Turkey, Russia and Iran, put forward by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in November 2020, and said that contacts were held in the region.

"The 3 + 3 initiative is a strong strategy based on the basic principles of the Islamic Republic of Iran's foreign policy, ie the solution of regional problems by the partner countries of the region, the minimization of areas of tension."
