Great attention is paid to the development of the Russian language in Azerbaijan.

Axar.az reports the statement came from Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with President Ilham Aliyev.

He thanked the President of Azerbaijan for the attention paid to the Russian language in the country.

"34% of schoolchildren in Azerbaijan study in Russian, or to some extent learn Russian. "This high figure shows the desire of the Azerbaijani leadership and people to maintain close, multifaceted contacts with us," the Russian leader said.
