Positive response from Ukraine to Erdogan's proposal

Negotiations on Donbas and Crimea should be transferred from Belarus to Turkey.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Ukrainian MP Irina Gerashenko.

Gerashenko said he welcomed all steps taken by Ukraine's partners to put pressure on Russia, adding that they should abandon Minsk before the talks.

Noting that Turkey will be the place where the talks will be held, Gerashenko said:

"But first we need to consult with our partners in the Normandy format - Germany and France. We would also like to listen to our close allies."

Today, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced his readiness to mediate between Russia and Ukraine.
