In Afghanistan, Taliban leader Hibatullah Akhundzada will receive a monthly salary of 228,750 Afghans (about $ 2,400).

Axar.az reports the statement came from Ahmad Wali Hakmal, a spokesman for the Taliban's interim government finance ministry.

He said the caretaker government's deputy prime minister, Mohammad Hassan Akhund, would receive a salary of 198,250 afghanis (about $ 2,000).

The monthly salary of other ministers will be 137,250 Afghans (about $ 1,430).

The minimum wage in Afghanistan is 5,000 Afghans (about $ 52). Hakmal said the decision would take effect soon.
