If there was opposition, NATO would be in Smolensk

If the opposition had come to power in Belarus last year, the republic would not exist.

Axar.az reports the statement came from President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

"If we lost, we would make a big mistake. The country simply would not exist. If they came to power one day, there would be a NATO bloc near Smolensk. The constitution allows the president to do so. If their man was in power, they would use it. That is why we are trying to amend the constitution in some way, "Lukashenko said.
