Putin demanded this during a meeting with Biden - Ryabkov

We called on NATO to show maximum seriousness in providing mutual security guarantees.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.

During a meeting with Biden, Ryabkov spoke about the security guarantees demanded by Putin.

"We are at the beginning of the road, we have to cross this road quickly. It is too early to assess the chances of getting a real security guarantee instead of empty promises."

Ryabkov noted that they will soon find out whether their NATO colleagues are serious about this issue.
