Russia must reduce tensions and respect Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg.

"It is important to find a diplomatic and political solution to the tension. In this context, we are pleased with the dialogue between the Presidents of the United States and Russia. NATO allies will continue talks on this issue. The allies provide political support to Ukraine. "

Stoltenberg noted that the decision on whether Ukraine should join NATO is a matter for the country:

"If Ukraine applies for membership, it will be decided by 30 allies of the Alliance. Other countries cannot interfere in it. "
