Russia's demand for the EU is unacceptable - Borrell

Russia's terms on security guarantees are unacceptable.

Axar.az reports the statement came from EU Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell.

"Security demands for an end to the EU and NATO's eastward expansion are completely unacceptable. "Especially when the issue of Ukraine is on Russia's agenda."

Borrell noted that for the first time Moscow submitted this request in writing:

"It simply came to our notice then. Winners always say that these are my conditions. We do not agree with Russia's foreign policy and some events that it considers an "internal matter."

He accused Moscow of negotiating a European security architecture without EU involvement.

"It simply came to our notice then. We will not accept it. "
