NATO cannot take this step - a demand from Russia

With Ukraine and Georgia joining NATO, the formulas are unthinkable.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko.

Speaking at the Russia-NATO meeting in Brussels on January 12, Grushko said that all the issues were on the agenda:

"This includes NATO's eastward expansion, the Bucharest Decision, which gave the green light to Ukraine's and Georgia's NATO membership. The ill-considered policy of joining NATO poses risks. It is impossible to formulate a formula for Georgia and Ukraine to join NATO - it is impossible, it is unthinkable," Grushko said.
