"Khojaly Remembrance Day" has been announced in the US

The mayors of Fayetteville, Durham and Apex in North Carolina have recognized February 26 as Khojaly Remembrance Day.

Axar.az reports that this was reported by the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora.

The declarations signed by Mitch Colvin, Elaine M. O'Neill and Jacques Gilbert state that the Azerbaijani community in Apex, Durham and Fayetteville and around the world commemorates the victims of the Khojaly genocide on February 26 each year with deep sorrow and grief.

The documents draw attention to the contribution of the Azerbaijan Friendship Organization to the promotion of the Azerbaijani language, culture, history and cultural heritage in these cities.

It should be noted that the declarations were adopted on the initiative of the head of the Azerbaijan Friendship Organization Adika Iqbal.
