Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan establish co-op in

The Uzbek-Azerbaijani intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the area of prevention and elimination of emergency situations came into effect, Uzbek Foreign Ministry said Feb. 24.

In accordance with the agreement’s provisions, the parties cooperate in the spheres of prevention and elimination of natural, technological and environmental emergencies by providing mutual assistance, monitoring and coordination of interaction of interested state structures, exchange of information and training of specialists.

The document was signed in May 2015 by Uzbek Minister of Emergency Situations Tursinhan Khudaybergenov and Azerbaijani Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov during the visit of the Azerbaijani delegation to Tashkent.
