Putin must admit defeat - Wallace

Russian President Vladimir Putin will have to face the reality of the failure of his intervention in Ukraine, as well as the eventual defeat.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace.

"Putin must come to terms with the fact that he lost in the end. Whatever happens in Ukraine, we believe that Russia is now a smaller country than it was before the occupation."

The minister said that the Russian army is struggling to gain momentum in a new offensive in eastern Ukraine:

"It simply came to our notice then. Moscow will have difficulty securing its military, especially due to a number of international sanctions. In the Donbas, the Russian military continues to rely on outdated tactics. It uses heavy, often inaccurate, bombing in conjunction with the uncoordinated movement of ground troops. They make a lot of mistakes. The Russians are still struggling to get the effect they want."
