Macron and Scholz had a telephone conversation

French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz had a telephone conversation with Finnish President Sauli Niinistö.

Axar.az reports that in a telephone conversation, both Macron and Scholz expressed their full support for Finland's bid to join NATO.

"Macron fully supports Finland's sovereign choice to join NATO as soon as possible," a statement from the Elysee Palace said.

Scholz, in turn, stressed that Finland is in favor of NATO membership.

"In a telephone conversation with President Sauli Niinistö, I said that Finland would count on the full support of the German government."
