Khojaly commemoration event held in Lithuania

On the occasion of the 24th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Lithuania, group for inter-parliamentary relations with Azerbaijan in the Lithuanian Seimas and The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS) co-organized “Blood for Life” event at the Vilnius City Hall.

The event took place within the framework of the “Justice for Khojaly” international awareness campaign initiated by Mrs. Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, General Coordinator of Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation.

Former Lithuanian President Vytautas Landsbergis, members of Seimas, Director of Strasbourg Office of TEAS Eliza Pieter and other officials attended the event and spoke about the history of the Khojaly genocide.

Following the speeches, the video prepared by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation about the Khojaly genocide was displayed. The event participants, in memory of Khojaly genocide victims, donated blood for the people suffering from anemia in Lithuania.

The event was widely covered by local media.
