Canada recognized mass deportation as an act of genocide

The Canadian Parliament recognized the mass deportation of Crimean Tatars in 1944 under Stalin's regime as an act of genocide.

Axar.az reports the statement came from Ukrainian Ambassador to Canada Yulia Kovalev.

The parliament adopted a resolution in this regard.

Ukraine, Lithuania, and Latvia have recognized the deportation of Crimean Tatars at the state level as an act of genocide.
