Georgian Defense Minister to resign

Georgia`s Defense Minister Tinatin Khidasheli and State Minister for Reconciliation Paata Zakareishvili will be resigning in the upcoming days in order to take part in the country`s parliamentary elections, the speaker of the Georgian parliament David Usupashvili said.

"Republican Party ministers who have done a lot of work for this country — Tinatin Khidasheli and Paata Zakareishvili — will be leaving their offices. In a few days, with the permission of the prime minister, they will finish their work and join party activities," Sputnik cited Usupashvili as saying.

The Environment Minister Gigla Agulashvili, will be keeping his position after leaving the party.
