Axar.az presents an interview with American political expert Andrew Korybko.
- The Brussels meeting is currently the main topic of the region. How do you see the future course of events?
- There's always the risk of an escalation from illegal armed Armenian groups but the situation appears generally stable, all things considered.
- After the Brussels meeting, the process of delimitation and demarcation of borders has accelerated, and both sides have already established a commission. Are future attempts to hinder the process possible?
- The greatest uncertainties surround the status of illegal armed Armenian groups and that ethnicity's goal of obtaining some special status for the region where Russian peacekeepers are responsible upon its complete integration into Azerbaijan.
- About the peacekeepers. At the end of the term, do you think the peacekeepers will leave the region or the period will be extended?
- It's too early to tell. It'll depend on what the three sides agree to closer to the end of the peacekeepers' mandate.
