Vladimir Putin must suspend military operations in Ukraine and begin talks with Vladimir Zelensky.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

"Mr. Putin, stop the suffering and destruction in Ukraine! Withdraw your troops! Do not refuse direct and serious talks with President Zelensky," Steinmeier said.

He noted that Putin's aggressive war does not only affect the people of Ukraine:

"The price of grain in the world has risen because Russia is blocking the export of millions of tons of grain in Ukrainian ports. Many parts of the world are facing starvation and death. The consequences of Putin's war will affect countries that have not yet recovered from the coronavirus pandemic and areas where the soil has dried up due to the climate crisis."
