About 8,000 Ukrainian soldiers surrendered in the Donetsk and Luhansk "people's republics."

Axar.az informs this was stated by the "ambassador" of the so-called "LPR" in Russia Rodion Miroshnik.

He said the number of both captives and dead would increase.

On May 20, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the complete liberation of the territory of the Azovstal metallurgical plant. 2439 Ukrainian soldiers of the Azov Regiment surrendered, laying down their weapons. A criminal case has been launched against them in Russia.
