The newly elected President of the Philippines, Ferdinand Marcos, has also appointed himself Minister of Agriculture amid rising prices.
Axar.az reports that Marcos said that domestic prices continue to rise due to external factors, including problems in the global supply chain as a result of the war in Ukraine. Noting the importance of solving the problem, Marcos stressed the need to increase food production.
It should be noted that during the pre-election campaign, Marcos promised to reduce the price of rice at least twice.
