Russian troops are strengthening defensive positions in the Kherson region.

Axar.az reports the statement came from the General Staff of the Ukrainian Army.

"In the direction of Yuzhnobugsky, the occupiers are focusing their efforts on preventing our troops from conducting counter-offensive operations in the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions. In the direction of Nikolayev, the enemy deployed artillery units in certain areas. Attempts to carry out offensive operations in the direction of Kiselevka-Posad-Pokrovskoye and Alexandrovka-Luparevoye to reach the administrative borders of the Kherson region in the future are not ruled out, " the statement said.
