On June 23, EU leaders will officially grant Ukraine and Moldova candidate status for EU membership.

Axar.az reports the statement came from EU Council President Charles Michel on Twitter.

"This is a crucial moment for the EU. This is the geopolitical choice we will make today. "I am confident that we will give Ukraine and Moldova candidate status, as well as a clear European perspective for Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova," he said.

The summit of European Union (EU) leaders started in Brussels, Belgium. The summit will discuss the issue of granting EU candidate status to Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia.
