Russia is taking this step to scare the West

Russia is trying to scare Western countries with a nuclear disaster. For this, they use the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in Energodar, which is under occupation.

Axar.az reports that the US Institute for the Study of War has released information about this.

"The Russian troops stationed around the NPP attacked Ukraine's Nikopol and other positions in recent weeks and deliberately put Ukraine in a difficult situation. Either Ukraine would fire back, incurring international condemnation and risk a nuclear incident (which Ukrainian forces are unlikely to do), or allow Russian forces to fire on their positions from a "safe zone." It seems that the occupiers hope that a possible nuclear disaster will deter Western countries from helping Ukraine liberate the south from occupation," the statement said.
