The US administration takes Russian President Vladimir Putin's statements about nuclear weapons very seriously but does not see the need to increase the level of readiness of its nuclear forces.

Axar.az reports that these words were said by the press secretary of the White House, Karin Jean-Pierre.

"We, of course, take these threats very seriously. However, we see no reason to change our level of nuclear preparedness at this time," the spokesman said.

It should be noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin said that nuclear weapons will be used if there is a threat to territorial integrity.
