Turkey ex-air chief Akin Ozturk 'admits' coup plot

A former Turkish air force commander has confessed to planning last week's attempted military coup.


Gen Akin Ozturk was quoted as having told interrogators that he "acted with intention to stage a coup".

Photographs of the general published by Anadolu appeared to show several injuries to his head and upper body.


The general had earlier denied any involvement in the coup attempt and insisted he worked to stop it.
