The military exercises held by Iran several times on the border with Azerbaijan seriously worried Ankara as well as Baku. Ankara's relations with Tehran are not as tense as ours. However, Turkey could not remain a spectator to Iran's threat to Azerbaijan and should have warned Tehran through joint military exercises with Azerbaijan.
Axar.az reports that these words were noted by political scientist Elkhan Sahinoglu.
The political scientist said that the entire address of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the participants of the Azerbaijan-Turkey joint military exercise was a message addressed directly to Tehran:
"Turkey-Azerbaijani joint military exercises encourage active Azerbaijanis living in Iran to fight for their rights. If Tehran has sense and logic, it should not conduct military exercises on the border with Azerbaijan again. But if there was logic, they would have looked for ways to get rid of the tension in the relationship."
