The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine issued a statement regarding the imprisoned ex-president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili.

Axar.az reports that the statement requested the handover of the ex-president to Kyiv.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine strongly objects to the inhumane treatment of Ukrainian citizen Mikheil Saakashvili, who is being held behind bars in Georgia. Gross violations of human rights are contrary to Georgia's declared course. We call on the Georgian authorities to immediately stop mocking Mikheil Saakashvili and hand him over to Ukraine," the message reads.
