An earthquake of magnitude 5.9 occurred in Honduras

On February 8, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 was recorded in Honduras. Earthquakes were also felt in Central American countries and southern Mexico.

Axar.az reports with reference to the US Geological Service that the epicenter of the earthquake was on the coast of the Gulf of Honduras.

No casualties or damages were reported. The earthquake was recorded two days after a series of earthquakes in Turkiye and Syria.

According to initial reports, the earthquake was felt in Belize, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Mexico.

According to the newspaper "El Heraldo de Honduras", the tremors lasted for 10 seconds and caused panic among the country's population.
